For
the 26th consecutive year, the Asheville Track Club hosts the Bele Chere
5K & Fun Run in downtown Asheville on Saturday, July 30. Held in conjunction
with the Southeast’s largest free outdoor festival, this highly
competitive road race offers runners the opportunity to run on the streets
of Asheville amid the bustle and excitement of Bele
Chere.
The 5K begins at 8 a.m. on Woodfin Street and the Fun Run starts at 8:45
near the conclusion of the 5K at the intersection of College Street and
Biltmore Avenue. Special Bele Chere 5K medals will be awarded to the top
three male and female finishers in each group. $500 cash bonuses will
be awarded winners who break the course record in overall male and female,
masters and grand masters categories .
REGISTRATION
AND COURSE MAP
Early
registration runs through July 28. Entry fees for for the 5k during early
registration is $15. Registration for the Fun Run is $7. You can register
at Jus' Running, located at 523 Merrimon Ave. in Asheville, or by printing
the registration form and mailing
it to Asheville Track Club, 26 Greenleaf Circle, Asheville, NC 28804.

PACKET
PICK UP/LATE REGISTRATION
Late
registration and packet pick up will be held at the Best Western Asheville
Biltmore at 22 Woodfin Street in downtown Asheville.
Packet pick up on Friday, July 29 will be from 5-8 p.m. The entry fee
on July 29 will be $20.
Packet pick up and registration on the day of the race will be from 6:30-7:30
a.m. Race day registration will be $25.
The
Fun Run will be $7 at all times.
Parking at the Best Western is reserved for registered guests only. Parking
for the race can be found on side streets or in private parking lots around
the downtown area. The parking garage at the corner of College and Broadway
will be open the morning of the race for a charge of $5 per vehicle. Other
private lots may require a fee and all city owned parking garages are
closed for the festival.
