Missions involvement at Buff Creek

Local

We have an active Van ministry, picking up many youth and children from the area for every service.

We delivered the Jesus Video to all of the homes in this area.

We have "adopted" the Haywood cottage at Broyhill. Broyhill is a children's home in Clyde that is run by the Baptist Children's Homes of North Carolina.

Each year we host a community wide Easter Egg Hunt and Harvest Carnival.

Vacation Bible School is our greatest outreach to the children of the community.

Each July 4th we reach out to the community during the celebrations on Main Street.

Three of our members helped with disaster relief by feeding those displaced by Hurricane Floyd.

We helped three families that were victims of Hurricane Floyd. See the article from the Sylva Herald about our trip.

We support the North American Missions Board offering each year through the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering.

We have collected shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child for the last three years.

We support the work of the International Missions Board each year through the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering.

We collected a Family Food Box for the people of Iraq in May of 2003.
