The WNC Regional Air Pollution Control Agency has recently produced an air quality video documentary. It's called "Breathing Troubled Air -- A Prayer for the Mountains" and it does a very good job of explaining our air quality problems and air pollution's effects on humans and on our natural environment. It also has some beautiful and dramatic scenes of the mountains and interviews with area air quality and medical experts and also children. It closes with NC's poet laureate, Fred Chappell, reading from his poem, "A Prayer for the Mountains." For more information or to purchase a copy of the video (free to groups, $5 for individuals), contact Chuck Sams at the WNC RAPCA (828-255-5655, wncrapca@mindspring.com).

In addition to the video, Chuck Sams, of the WNC Regional Air Pollution Control Agency, has put together a handout describing things YOU can do to improve air quality, called "21 Ways You Can Clean the Air." Please help spread the word to others. He is also developing a handout that will highlight the statistics and scientific data that are presented in the video.
