Snowbird Loop Nature Trail


Deerhead ProfileDirections: The Snowbird Loop Nature Trail is located about 6.3 miles from Robbinsville in the western part of Graham County. From Robbinsville, take Highway 129 North for 1½ miles to the junction with Highway 143 West (Massey Branch Road). Turn left and proceed West on Highway 143 for approximately 5.0 miles to a stop sign. Turn right onto Kilmer Road. You will drive for about 1.3 miles and arrive at the Snowbird Picnic Area at Snowbird Creek. Parking is available in the picnic area along with table, charcoal grills and a port-a-john.

  • Trailhead: The trailhead is located across the road from the picnic area and can be recognized by the steps lead into the wood.
  • Distance: This is a short ½ mile loop trail along Snowbird Creek.
  • Difficulty: It is rated as an easy hiking trail with steps built into the trail.
  • Use Guide: Snowbird Loop is a nature trail and is highly recommended for novices or families with small children. With a group at a casual pace, allow ½ hour. Bring water and protective clothing if your trip is going to be more than a few hours.
  • Description: Follow the wooden step following Snowbird Creek upstream. There are excellent views of the creek and many species of hardwoods and evergreens.
