"The City of Four Seasons", as named by the late weather maven Kermit Edney, welcomes you to it's home page, courtesy of MAIN.

For over 100 years, Henderson County has been popular as a summer resort as well as a haven for people looking to retire or just get away from the busy life of the big cities.

Located on a scenic mountain plateau 2,200 feet above sea level, Henderson County lies cradled between two mountain ranges- the Great Smokies and the Blue Ridge Mountains.  This "cradle" gives way to the almost perfect climate- beautiful, moderate Autumn days; 82 degree Summers; mild Winters; and, simply gorgeous Spring afternoons.

Hendersonville, the county seat, boasts a picturesque and more than thriving historical downtown district.  It is a testimony of how business, community leaders and local citizens work together to preserve the rich heritage, yet, keep the city prosperous and developing in positive ways.

During your visit here to the Henderson County website, you are encouraged to take a look at the Communities, Events, History, and Places To Go- all full of wonderful information about this special place to live, work and play.
