H & R BLOCK

H & R Block offers courses every fall of the year about Preparing Income Tax Forms and Schedules. These courses are an excellent way for first time business start up people to get familiarity with filling out Schedule C, Profit and Loss From Business. Part II of Schedule C, Expenses, gives a new business owner a good idea of what business expenses are and why it’s not a good idea just to throw receipts in a paper bag, shoe box, or collect them on the dash board of a pick-up truck.

Form 8829 defines expenses allowable for the business use of your home. And, of course, there is always Schedule SE for Self-Employment Taxes due from net profit. Depreciation and business use of vehicles are other reportable expenses.

H & R Block hires their tax preparers from the students who enroll in their fall courses. This can be a financial benefit to new business owners who have low income expectations in the winter months of February, March to mid April. This is the tax preparing season when H & R Block employs tax preparers.

Tax Preparers have hands on experience in seeing a variety of tax situations, become more familiar with allowable expenses and deductions. Another obvious benefit to being a Tax Preparer is you are earning extra income in your own business’s slow season.

H & R Block has offices nationwide. You can locate the local H & R Block office in your phone book to get information about their fall courses and employment opportunities in the winter months.
