Bob Bass
Dr. Bob Bass loved Yancey County, North Carolina. Bob and JoAnn journeyed as often as possible to their summer home in these beautiful mountains. They enjoyed a rich social life with friends from many places who had also migrated to Yancey County. When Dr. Bass passed away on August 30th, family and friends decided to honor his memory by helping to build a Habitat for Humanity house in Yancey County. Dr. Bass was an avid woodworker who enjoyed building things for other people. "Bob loved to help people", said his wife JoAnn, "and he loved Burnsville and Yancey County." A friend came up with the idea to continue Bass' passion for helping others by building a Habitat for Humanity home in his honor. Bob Bass

This home will be built in 2007 on Three-Quarter Creek Rd, on the east side of Burnsville.  It is on a lot adjoining another, completed Habitat for Humanity home.   The home was designed by Armin Wessel Architects.

The house is a 1200 square foot, 3 bedroom, one bath home with a full, walk-out basement. The house will conform to U.S. Department of Energy “Energy Star” home building standards to provide maximum energy savings and minimum energy costs. The home will have a well and septic plus a paved drive.
