Everyone deserves decent shelter. Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian Housing ministry. Our mission is to provide safe, decent, affordable housing to families in need in Mitchell and Yancey counties. Funds for this purpose are raised through the sale of new or gently used building materials and household goods by Habitats ReStore located on upper street in Spruce Pine. We offer a service that helps reduce materials reaching the landfills and provide a conduit for getting reusable items back into the community at greatly discounted prices. All monies from every purchase will go to Mitchell-Yancey Habitat for Humanity for the purpose of building homes for needy families. Although we are an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International we do not receive funding from Habitat international, Federal, or State Funding so local support is very important for our mission of ending substandard housing in Mitchell and Yancey Counties. The Habitat ReStore is open to the public.
