Fifteen public school
teachers from the mountain area will be selected to attend the 20-day session
on the campus of UNCA. Institute activities run from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Monday through Friday. Participants will share successful approaches to
the teaching of writing, develop their own writing in a variety of modes,
and read recent publications on the teaching of composition. Because the
course is intense, part-time jobs and similar activities should be avoided
during its term. Six hours of WCU graduate credit for English 611, Writing
Seminar for Teachers, will be awarded for successful completion.
