On May 7, 2002, author

"MAIN
is a wonderful, brilliant, and revolutionary idea: have a locally
based nonprofit community group provide basic communication services
to everyone at extremely reasonable prices. Cut out the unwanted
commercialism, respect privacy and individual freedom, and keep
the proceeds in the community to boost the local economy and to
enhance the quality of local media. We need one hundred, one thousand
MAINs all across this nation."
- Robert McChesney, May 2002
