That little orange nub in the upper right is where i picked and ate one of the berries.


DESCRIPTION:
Similar to the cultivated variety, the red raspberry extends woody and bristly canes with compound leaves of 3 - 5 leaflets and are irregularly notched and characterstically whitish on the bottom. It flowers with loose clusters of greenish-white flowers.

FLOWERS:
June - September (Berries in August)

HABITAT:
Rocky open woods, moist thickets, clearings and along roadsides.

The leaves are compound and almost all of the stems are bristly to prickly.
