FAMILY:
Primrose Family (Primulaceae)

DESCRIPTION:
Whorled light green leaves on an unbranched stem of generally 3 - 6 lanceolate leaves. A single delicate (1/2") yellow flower on a slender stem is borne from the axil of each of the upper leaves, and the flower itself usually rests just above the leaf. The plant grows from 1 - 3' tall.

FLOWERS:
May to July

HABITAT:
Prefers full sun of open woods, fields and woodland margins.
