amy Amy Steiner
Amy Steiner is an herbalist and mother who has been on a mission since childhood to explore what nature has to offer. In 1997 she began her studies at the University of North Carolina -Asheville where she discovered her love for botany and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Biology. In 1999, she began studying traditional herbalism under Peggy Ellis at the North Carolina School of Natural Healing. These schools provided her with a wonderful knowledge of plants: scientific, medicinal, and traditional. During this time she also studied and performed West African dance with various dance groups, and worked with the YMI Cultural Center performing and teaching children’s dance workshops.
Amy is currently working to share the delights of herbal remedies with the world through her body care business, Savoir. She is also a board member of North Carolina Plant Savers, and Co-director of Kukundi Dance and Drum Camp. As a devoted dancer, herbalist, and mother, she hopes to inspire others to celebrate the natural world and especially the amazing wonders of plants.
