BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — A Lincoln County man was arrested Tuesday afternoon in connection with threats made to North Buncombe Elementary School.
A school spokesperson said the threat was called into the school after 7 a.m. School resumed after deputies swept the facilities and gave the all-clear.
Kevin Darrell Lewis, 40, has been charged with two counts of false report of mass violence at an educational property and is being held on a $40,000 bond at the Buncombe County Detention Facility. His first court appearance will be 9 a.m. Wednesday.
Authorities said Lewis' cell phone was used to track him to Lincoln County, where he was picked up.
