Chamber to present priority list at Legislative Luncheon

The Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce is hoping to build bridges between the local business community and state lawmakers April 25 at its annual Legislative Luncheon.

“Building relationships with our elected officials is crucial to advocating for the needs of Western North Carolina,” says Kit Cramer, President & CEO of the Asheville Chamber, in a press release.

The Asheville Chamber will present an updated list of its top priorities to Western North Carolina’s legislative delegation  April 25. Based on member surveys, the agenda is crafted by the Chamber’s Governmental Affairs Task Force and approved by the Chamber’s Board of Directors. The business nonprofit is currently calling for a long list of state actions, including “accelerating the completion of the I-26 connector project” and “supporting initiatives which would stimulate investment in the broadband infrastructure in WNC.” Read the priority list here.

During the luncheon, members of the delegation will also share thoughts about the upcoming legislative session.

The event will be held at Lionscrest on Biltmore Estate at noon. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased online here.
