Three chances for comedy

It's Mike McDonald's 15th annual Comedy XXtravaganza featuring the funnyman and a monster lineup of headline comedians on Friday, Feb. 12 at 8 p.m. at The Music Hall in Portsmouth. Featured will be Nick Di Paolo, seen on "Louie" and "Inside Amy Schumer;" Paul D’Angelo, named “Boston’s Best Comedian” by Boston Magazine; Christine Hurley, Boston’s “Queen of Comedy;” and Graig Murphy, comedian, impressionist and rising star. Tickets are $42 and $38 and are available at The Music Hall's box office, 28 Chestnut St., Portsmouth or online at www.themusichall.org or by calling 436-2400. A portion of the proceeds from the event will go to Cross Roads House and the Seacoast Family Food Pantry.

The Las Vegas Comedy series returns to The Rockingham Ballroom in Newmarket, 8 p.m., Friday, Feb. 12 with a double headliner event starring Mark Scalia and Dan Crohn and along with regional favorite Paul Landwehr. Tickets are $15. For seats and reservations, call the Rockingham Ballroom at 659-4410. The Rockingham Ballroom is located at 22 Ash Swamp Rd., just seconds off Route 108 adjacent to Rockingham Country Club. The Rockingham Ballroom is a "bring your own food but not drinks" venue. Comedic hypnotist Frank Santos Jr., will perform at Rochester Opera House 8 p.m., Friday, Feb. 12. Doors at 7 p.m. Reserve tickets at RochesterOperaHouse.com or stop by the box office or call (603) 335-1992 Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and two hours before the show. Cash bar, under age 18 must be accompanied by legal guardian. Tickets are $24, $22 students and seniors.

PechaKucha tonight

PechaKucha Night is a Portsmouth tradition, now in its seventh year. It's also part of an internationally recognized event based on a unique presentation style in which artists, designers and other creative individuals have six minutes and 40 seconds to share their presentations in the traditional PechaKucha format – 20 images, with 20 seconds to talk about each image. The latest installment happens tonight, Feb. 11, at 3S Artspace. Doors open at 7 p.m.; presentations begin at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free but reservations are recommended as space is limited at www.3Sarts.org. 3S Artspace is located at 319 Vaughan St., Portsmouth.

Gipsy Kings coming to town

The Music Hall has announced the Gipsy Kings featuring Nicolas Reyes and Tonino Baliardo will perform at the historic theater at 8 p.m., Saturday, April 23. Tickets are $55, $85 and $115, and will go on sale to Music Hall members Friday, Feb. 12 at noon at the box office, by phone and online. They will go on sale to non-members at noon, Saturday, Feb 20. The Gipsy Kings' Grammy Award-winning sound melds heated flamenco, rumba, salsa and pop, and will have everyone dancing.
