Five local high school baseball teams still ranked by CHSAA

Five local high school baseball teams are listed in the Colorado High School Activities Association polls, which were posted on the CHSAANow.com website on Monday.

In Class 3A, La Junta remained in the No. 10 position after gaining a pair of wins last week.

Two other Tri-Peaks League teams are ranked as Lamar remained in the third slot and St. Mary's moved from eighth to fifth.

Eaton is the top-ranked team, followed by University, Lamar, Bayfield, St. Mary's, Faith Christian, Gunnison, The Academy, Sheridan and La Junta.

Trinidad is listed as "others receiving votes," as are Brush, Valley, Peak to Peak and Colorado Community.

Three local teams are in the Class 2A poll. Swink rose from seventh to the fourth spot, County Line dropped from third to fifth and Rocky Ford dropped from fifth to sixth.

Paonia is at the top of the rankings, followed by Sedgwick County, Hotchkiss, Swink, County Line, Rocky Ford, Resurrection Christian, Haxtun, Akron and Dayspring Christian.

Listed as "others receiving votes" are Limon, Rye, Yuma, Front Range Christian and Peyton.

In Class 1A, Manzanola remained in the No. 6 position.

Three other District 3 teams are ranked as Granada is first, Holly is second and Eads is fourth.

Following Granada are Holly, Fleming, Eads, Cotopaxi, Manzanola, Nucla, Genoa-Hugo/Karval, Community Christian and Stratton/Liberty.

Otis, Dove Creek, Antonito and Gilpin County are mentioned as "others receiving votes."
