CLINTON - A celebration is coming to Clinton on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 8 honoring family. The MA-MAtroyshka Festival will be held at the Clinton Town Hall, 242 Church St., from noon to 5 p.m.

The Russian nesting doll, Matryoshka, is the symbol of mother and family. The MA-MAtroyshka Festival is a way to honor mothers from every culture.

Organizers are hosting the festival in cooperation with the Matryoshka Club, From Russia With Art Gallery and the Russian American Cultural Center, as well as the Museum of Russian Icons, located across the park from Town Hall, which is offering free, same-day admission with a festival ticket. In addition, the exhibit, "Toys, Trinkets and Treasures: The Story of the Nesting Doll," will be at th emuseum, along with Matroshka cookie decorating.

Russian Americans and mothers from all surrounding communities are invited.

There will be Russian dance troupes, children's stage performances, art on display, as well as food and soft drinks.

Tickets at the door are $15 for adults, $8 for children 3 to 17. Children under 3 are free.
