Jason Chandler named Dinwiddie Middle principal

DINWIDDIE — Dinwiddie County Public Schools is pleased to announce the selection of Jason Chandler as principal of Dinwiddie Middle School, effective July 1.

Chandler is a graduate of Longwood College where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education/Athletic Training. He also holds a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Averett University and a Post Master’s Certificate in Educational Leadership and Administration from The George Washington University, where he is currently completing his doctoral studies.

Chandler has 14 years of experience in education. He began his career as a teacher in Prince George County Schools. He also has five years of administrative experience from Prince George County and Franklin City Schools where he served as both an assistant principal and principal at the elementary and high school levels. He is currently the principal at S.P. Morton Elementary School in Franklin City.

“I am humbled by the opportunity to serve in Dinwiddie County Schools and am ready to get started,” Chandler told the School Board on May 24.

“Mr. Chandler brings a variety of administrative experience and is a good fit for Dinwiddie Middle School. We are excited to have him work with the students, staff and families,” stated William D. Clark, superintendent.
