Town Manager/Clerk/Finance Officer Position

Town of Rhodhiss, NC is governed by the Council/Manager form of government; population 1070; council consist of four members & mayor.  Responsibilities:  preparation, maintenance & administration of Town budget; planning & directing the disbursements and accounting of revenues & expenditures for the Town in accordance with established municipal finance procedures, local ordinances and the NC General Statutes governing the responsibilities of local government fiscal performance.  Position requires considerable independent judgment & initiative in planning; supervision of seven employees. Departments include: Admin., Public Works, Water, Sewer, Police & Fire.  Must be able to administer Grants and be able to move grants along in a timely manner thus maintaining good standing with all involved.  Certified Municipal Clerk Status/Minimum of 5 years’ experience in clerk/management.  Experience in public sector a plus.  Software currently being used:  Finance/Quick Books & Utility Billing/UB Pro.  Responsible to the Board of Commissioners for the administration of personnel program;  develop and coordinate training/educational programs for Town employees & other duties as may be assigned by the Board of Commissioners.  It is the policy of the Town to foster, maintain and promote equal opportunity as stated in Article IV, Recruitment & Employment of the Personnel Handbook.
