ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Limited details are available, but officials said an ongoing investigation led to a heavy police presence at an Asheville hotel Sunday afternoon, April 21.
Sunday afternoon, multiple Asheville Police Department vehicles were seen at the Quality Inn on Tunnel Road, including patrol vehicles, an armored vehicle, along with a forensics vehicle.
Asheville police said officers were executing a search warrant on a hotel room that turned out to be empty.

They said the warrant was in connection to an investigation by the Buncombe County Sheriff's Office.
News 13 reached out to the sheriff's office Sunday for more information, but did not yet hear back.
