An early morning earthquake in east Tennessee could be felt across Western North Carolina. The U.S. Geological Survey confirms a 4.4 magnitude earthquake struck at 4:14 a.m. on Wednesday in Decatur, Tennessee, which is about 180 miles from Asheville.

The US Geological Survey said there were also three aftershocks, including a 3.3 magnitude aftershock at 4:27 a.m.
